Designed and Made in County Kerry Ireland

An Original Pop Up At Listowel Writers Week 26th May to 1st June

May 21, 2015 Mary Neeson

Join us in 27 -29 Church Street Listowel, previously known as McAuliffe’s gift shop for a full showcase of work by Kerry’s finest craft makers. The craft makers featured  all work with Original Kerry to raise the profile of craft making and hand crafted production from Kerry. New pots by Colleen Bowler, hand blown glass by Terence McSweeney, ceramics by Sinéad Lough, textiles by Fiadh Durham and prints by Amelié Gagné will feature in the shop this year, but long established names like Louis Mulcahy, Holden Leathergoods and Kerry Woollen Mills will also be present. We have very established names in the craft world within our membership but there is also a new wave of makers coming up who are designing and making for new audiences. Deirdre Enright said. A Kerry Craft Trails exhibition will also feature in the shop in Listowel and afternoon visitors to the shop can take part in brooch making using a saucer and fabrics with Karen Pleass, visitors are also encouraged to bring along a picture of their favourite writer on the Saturday which Úna Ní Shé will help turn into a felted figurine for keeps. Craft making sessions run daily between 2 and 5pm in the shop.
